Jason and Samantha Loch Izon were riding in East Allen Township on Tuesday, April 4 when they collided with a flatbed truck near the intersection with Portland Drive, Daily Voice has reported

Samantha, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio has said. Jason, 44, was taken to taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg for treatment, where he passed away early on Friday, April 7, loved ones say.

The crash remains under investigation by state police.

Now, those who were close to the couple have launched a crowd-funding effort to handle funeral expenses and related costs.

In just a few hours after being posted, the GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $3,000 of its $10,000 goal. The money, organizers say, will benefit the couple's young sons, 10-year-old Bailey and 6-year-old Cole.

"This page is (...) to help these young boys that just lost both their parents," wrote campaign organizer Jason Yost. "Please open up your hearts and give what you can, any and all donations are appreciated."
